My heart has been fashioned

Well I could not find the book I was thinking I wanted to read again this morning, but when I sat back down on the love seat my husband’s bible caught my eye as it was on the stack of magazines and many books that we love to delve into. So I picked it up.

I began reading where I had left off in Psalms, and there was my word for today: Psalms 32: 15 “he (God) who fashions the hearts of them all, and observes all their deeds.” (Revised Standard Version)

I don’t know about you, but I am constantly wishing and daydreaming that I was different than I am. I wish I had a thicker skin on my heart. That I was more eloquent when speaking to those I hold in high esteem. As I am sure that we all have these thoughts. But according to this word for me today, God has specifically made me the way he wanted me to be! Wow!

So my prayer today is to accept who I have been created to be and let my love and laughter flow. I don’t have to sound polished, it’s OK if I feel overwhelmed or care too much for things. God has made me thus and I need to embrace ME and follow his voice in all things each day. Because sometimes I feel silly or small when I hear the simple things that he wants me to do or say and I hold back. But how is he ever going to trust me with real purpose and mission, if I do not follow him in the small things?

Father, help me to hear your voice strong today and to not hesitate where you have directed my steps or words. To trust in everything that you send my way today. Open my fashioned heart to those around me who cross my path in your divine plan. Thank you that you love me and have created me the way that I am. Forgive me for not accepting your gift of my personally crafted heart and for not following your voice. Pull me back on track today.

Old Time Fun

We went to the Huntin’ Camp BBQ in Travelers Rest SC on Hwy 25 last night and it was a great time! We went with David and Martha and it was a blast! The ribs were excellent as always.

Thursday nights are pickin’ nights and they have a gospel band on the porch playing hymns starting at 6:30. Lets see . . there was a: fiddle, mandolin, upright base, banjo, guitar, harmonica, and even a hammer dulcimer!

It’s nights like this that make me glad that I was raised in the country. I was raised in the country of Wattsburg PA, but SC feels like home to me! The simple life of friends, family, food and music! It doesn’t get any better than that!

Weeds Of My Soul

I was finally able to get into my garden today, we have had rain off and on for the past few weeks and it has been too wet. I needed to find my row of lettuce that I knew was there somewhere! The weeds had grown to over a foot high! The ground was still quite moist and it made it very easy to pull the weeds. Before the SC clay was so hard I could not even put my potato hoe into the ground.

I often contemplate the things of God while going about my daily tasks. I think that was his plan when he told the parables of everyday life like farming / gardening. I began to think about my own personal weeds (sin) and how they were overtaking my life. Each one was not very large (in my own eyes) like the weeds in my garden. Not very big, but too many of them! So that even the fruit that I did have that may be hiding underneath the weeds could not be seen by others or myself. I needed the rain of God to moisten the soil of my soul.

Prayer: “Dear Father, may your holy spirit rain down on the hardened ground of my soul. Use your gentle but firm hand to grasp the weeds in my life and pull them out by their roots. That my soul become moistened with your love and correction so that the sin in my live comes out as easily as the weeds in my garden.”

I would love to hear your contemplations of daily life! I often get quite a few object lessons from my cats Helen and Mr. Kitty as well!
